I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the reasons why I chose this breed and to also let you know the pros and cons in my opinion, of owning an English Bulldog. The decision to purchase this type of dog was not an easy decision to make. I truly believe that when you purchase a dog, you should consider it as a long-term relationship, rather that for strictly commercial purposes only. In my case, I was extremely interested and attracted to this breed though I knew very little about them. The little I had read and what I had heard by word of mouth held me back a bit since I heard that they have some health issues. One day after viewing a magazine about a local litter, I decided to take a look for myself. The moment I set my eyes on them I knew I was in love, especially with a beautiful  female pup. I chose this female, which was to me, one of the most precious creatures I had ever seen. She wound up being a great choice because she eventually became CH. SPAIN. XENA DE PRODE. After many litters, I'm proud to say that I now own many specimens of the top blood lines in the world. My goal is to breed a unique line of bulldogs using the combination of these fantastic specimens. All my dogs are genetically very similar and all have the same blood line and all have the same origins so in the future I want to breed from them using all of them together to have a blood line of my own. I have everything I need to start breeding from them now that I have them all . Nevertheless, I must admit that I have learned a lot from incredible UK breeders as well as from breeders all over world.

 

Bulldogs need a lot of attention, thus many precautions must be taken with them since they are not very agile and they are prone to heat stroke because of their anatomy. If the owner takes this into account he or she will not run into any more complications than those you could come up with while breeding any other type of dog. If one decides on rearing a litter of bulldogs, I suggest, especially for a beginner,  to obtain advice and assistance since this can be a real challenge. As my good friend, JOSE VEQUERO BURON, known to have bred some of the greatest dogs in Spain such as the admired champion CAMARON, once told me a true bulldog breeder is one that after successfully rearing his first litter and after repeated sleepless nights goes back for more. I would like to emphasize that this indeed is an amazing, wonderful breed like no other. This is a truly affectionate creature with adults and especially with children. What’s even more amazing about these dogs is their gracefulness as well as their comical behaviour; for example:  the fact that they can snore just like a human. Once I had to send of them out of the living room for not allowing me to hear the television!! But don't we all have our little habits?
